We continue to extend our condolences and support to all those impacted by the January wildfires around the Los Angeles area. We would also like to acknowledge the tireless efforts of the emergency workers and community members who have been working diligently to reclaim the areas ravaged by the wildfires and aid the many displaced individuals during these challenging times.
Thanks to the generosity of our many congregation members in the US and Canada, the Mission Headquarters in Hawaii, and the Tenrikyo Tasukeai Net in Japan, we were able to raise over $30,000 in donations! This includes proceeds from the monthly bake sales at the Mission Headquarters, as well as the recent rummage sale that was supported by donations from our congregation members along with the help of many individuals that volunteered their time and sincerity.
These funds will be sent to Emergency Network Los Angeles, where they will be used towards the rebuilding of the communities affected by the Southern California wildfires. As a reminder, these donations will be allocated to assist with necessities like food, shelter, emotional care, recovery planning, and many other facets of disaster recovery.
Although four months have passed since this disaster, the recovery phase will be a long and arduous endeavor that is forecasted to continue for many more years. We ask for your ongoing prayers and support, so that we can come together and unite our minds towards the realization of the Joyous Life world.
