Donation Drive Raises $2,150 to Support Colombia Rebuilding
by Disaster Relief Team of Mission Headquarters in America
We continue to extend our support to all those impacted by the August 2026 earthquake that struck the Chocó province of Colombia that stretched hundreds of miles across the country. We would also like to acknowledge the tireless efforts of the emergency workers and community members who continue working diligently to stabilize those impacted communities and aid the many displaced individuals during these challenging times.
Thanks to the generosity of our many congregation members in the US and Canada, we were able to raise $2,150 in donations! The collected funds will be delivered to the Mission Center in Colombia where the funds will continue to support rebuilding as well as replenish key food and nutritional supplies. According to the donation information on the City of Cali’s official website, there is a low supply of food items such as oil, rice, canned vegetables, beans, sugar, and panela (unrefined cane sugar), as well as nutritional supplements for children and fortified food powder distributed by the Colombian government.
As the rebuilding efforts continue, if you would still like to make a contribution, the United Nations World Food Programme is hosting on their sharethemeal.org site opportunities to support in providing food baskets to those countries in need. Navigating the site, you will see an opportunity to donate meals to the Colombia relief effort as well as to other impacted areas such as Nepal and Sudan.
Although two months have passed since this disaster, the recovery phase will be a long and arduous endeavor that is forecasted to continue for many more years. We ask for your ongoing prayers and support, so that we can come together and unite our minds towards the realization of the Joyous Life world.
