What is the Proof Amulet?

Proof Amulet (shoko mamori) is an amulet distributed by Tenrikyo Church Headquarters. given as proof that its recipient has returned to Jiba. Often known as "omamori-san" (amulet), it is piece of red cloth that was part of the red kimono worn by the Everliving Oyasama. 

Those who receive the Amulet should wear it next to his or her body and maintain a joyful mind in accordance with Oyasama's Divine Model. If so, God will protect the person from any misfortune, turning a great misfortune into a small one and a small misfortune into nothing at all. 

How to receive the Proof Amulet?

Anyone returning to Jiba can receive the Proof Amulet. 

You must have an application for the bestowal of the Amulet, which can be prepared by the applicant’s directly supervised church or followers dormitory. It's probably best to ask your church minister or the friend who brought you to Jiba. The application forms should be submitted at the Foundress’ Sanctuary Attendants’ Room (Kyoso-den O-mori-sho). (Please note: over weekends, public holidays, and the day before, of, and after the Kagura Service, applications are accepted at Foundress’ Hall 2 (Dai-ni Goyo-ba), accessible from the East Corridor.) Bestowing hours start after the morning service and end before the evening service.

What else should you know about the Proof Amulet?

The Amulet is granted directly to the recipient. It is not meant as a gift for others.

The person can receive the Amulet only once in a lifetime. And, when the person passes away, the Amulet is to kept as a family treasure.

Is translation available for those who do not speak Japanese, when receiving the Proof Amulet?

Yes.
