Tenri Talks is an informal, unlisted, private podcast created to share real conversations about visiting Tenri and engaging with Tenrikyo, especially during the major events during the year of the 140th Anniversary. The goal is to create a welcoming space where people—whether experienced followers, first-time visitors, or accompanying family members—can hear honest perspectives, practical tips, and personal stories. Rather than offering official guidance, the podcast focuses on helping people feel more prepared, informed, and connected by learning from each other’s experiences.

Grant and Yoko kick off the very first episode of “Tenri Talks,” a private, word‑of‑mouth podcast about Tenri City in Nara Prefecture and life around the Tenrikyo faith. They introduce themselves, share why Tenri feels like a “Vatican/Mecca‑like” spiritual home for followers, and talk about the upcoming 140th Anniversary year and the huge summer Children’s Pilgrimage (Kodomo Ojiba Gaeri A.k.a. KOG). This intro episode covers Tenri’s atmosphere, daily rhythms, what makes the city unique (modest, rustic, and deeply tied to the church), and why the children’s pilgrimage can be both brutally hot and deeply meaningful.
