On August 10, 2026, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck in the Chocó province of Colombia that stretched hundreds of miles across the country. There has been reports of severe infrastructure damage and approximately 290 deaths concentrated in Cali, Colombia’s third most populous city. While rescue operations are ongoing and a complete picture of the damage is not clear, relief efforts have begun.

Tenrikyo Mission Headquarters in America is in communication with the Tenrikyo Mission Center in Columbia and will be collecting monetary donations to support the coordinated relief effort in the country. As of now, the donations collected will be used to purchase relief supplies and goods assisting in the cleanup and rebuilding efforts.

As we receive updates from the Tenrikyo Mission Center in Columbia, we will provide updates to the congregation as well as other opportunities to support the ongoing relief efforts.

We invite you to join us in supporting those affected by this disaster by contributing to our collection. Please use this link to the donation page to make contributions. We will be holding this fundraiser from August 16th to October 18th, 2026.

This page will be updated with more information on our relief efforts and let us keep all those affected in our prayers.
